Walmart to rollback prices on holiday items to combat inflation

“Inflation? No thanks.”

That’s probably what you and your families have been saying the past few months, but in fact, these are the words of Walmart. Yes, you read that correctly. One of the biggest corporations in the world is making an effort to help families combat inflation.

“This Year’s Thanksgiving Meal at Last Year’s Price” is the newest ad campaign and press release from Walmart, which will be running all the way through December 26, 2022. The basis for the campaign is to rollback the prices of basic Thanksgiving and Christmas meal items to last year’s prices, a rollback that has a vast array of items that can be found here.

Aldi is making a similar effort, rolling prices of Thanksgiving items all the way back to 2019, but will only be running the campaign through Thanksgiving.

The Walmart list even includes pre-made items such as pecan pie or ready-to-heat mac and cheese. Turkey prices can be found for under $1/pound.

“The past couple of years have shown us that how our customers gather during the holidays is changing, with celebrations big and small”, the company said in its press release.

Whether Walmart can keep up with demand will remain to be seen, as it seems like stores everywhere are struggling to keep up with supply on certain items. However, we thought this was a neat gesture that will help families cut some cost off their Thanksgiving and Christmas meals this year.
