Abbey Fickley, a mom from Texas, is causing quite a stir on social media for her parenting technique of letting her young daughter swear.

In a recent TikTok video, Fickley can be seen with her seven-year-old daughter, Myla, who proceeds to utter a phrase with profanity.

In the 15-second clip, Myla is in the living room complaining about wearing socks that don't match. Fickley says that she will find her a matching pair with the 7-year-old uttering the response:

“This is like some wacky Wednesday kind of s–t, mom."

Fickley finds the response humorous and lets her daughter know that she will find her a matching pair, to which she replies, "Thank you."

Fickley went on to say in a response video that the curse words are "home words" and that her daughter does not cuss outside of the home.

While some people have praised Fickley for her approach, others have criticized her for exposing her daughter to such language at such a young age.

The top comment on the video by user MyKeys_ simply asks "you just let her cuss like that?"

This triggered a myriad of responses, many of which were defending Fickley and her parenting style.

"YES! my kids can "appropriate cuss" just not "cuss" for no reason. BIG difference!" said one user.

Another user stated, "I let my kids cuss! They know when it’s appropriate and when it’s not!"
