Costco's New 5-Pound Peanut Butter Chocolate Pie Is Breaking the Internet
Discover Costco's latest family-sized dessert, the 4.5-pound Peanut Butter Chocolate Pie. TikTok user @costcohotfinds shares her experience with the new treat, which has a buttery graham cracker crumble crust and a "perfect" peanut butter and chocolate mousse center.
Indulgence seekers, brace yourselves! If you thought Costco’s desserts couldn't get any bigger or better, think again. The members-only warehouse club is renowned for its hefty sweet treats, from a nearly 2.5-pound log of tiramisu to a whopping 7-pound chocolate cake. And now, just in time for Pi Day, news of a new treat is causing a stir. This product is a big boy, indeed.
On March 12, Laura Lamb, also known as @costcohotfinds on TikTok, shared a video that has caused a sensation among pie-lovers on the internet. In the video, which has garnered nearly 3 million views in just over 24 hours, the Dallas-based Costco aficionado describes her experience with the store's new 4.5-pound Peanut Butter Chocolate Pie, priced at $19.99.
“The Costco bakery just brought out a peanut butter chocolate cream pie for the first time ever, and I am screaming,” Lamb exclaims. “Peanut butter pie is my all-time favorite, and this Costco pie is four and a half pounds. It is huge.”
Lamb describes the pie's buttery graham cracker crumble crust and the center's "perfect" peanut butter and chocolate mousse combo, which she deems "dangerously delicious" as she takes a bite.
The comments section on both Lamb’s TikTok and Instagram video is inundated with people sharing their excitement about finding the Costco item for themselves.
“This better be at my Costco,” one TikTok user comments.
“Perfect for Pi Day,” another chimes in.
“I’m pregnant and can’t wait to try this,” someone confesses on Instagram.
Many users ask where they can buy the pie, with more than one asking, "How can we figure out when this will be out in certain locations?"
“I wouldn’t blame every expectant parent in America for snapping these all up, but I hope y’all leave a few for the rest of us to fight over lol,” one person says in response to a comment about being pregnant. “I’m definitely NOT pregnant and can’t wait to try this."
Although Costco has not responded to requests for comment, Lamb offers some advice to those eager to sample the new pie. “As long as it’s in store, I will be purchasing it and taking it to all the barbecues this spring,” she reveals.
She suggests calling the bakery before making a trip to the nearest Costco if you're interested in trying the pie for yourself. I followed her advice and called my local Costco on the East Coast, and someone told me that while it isn't in stock yet, it might be available in a couple of weeks.
“We ended up eating through maybe a quarter of the pie by the end of the day, which is a lot,” Lamb admits. “You could easily cut it into 16 slices. I ended up being really kind and brought it over to my neighbor’s house, though.”
So, if you're a fan of indulgent peanut butter and chocolate desserts, keep an eye out for this colossal pie at your local Costco!
